We’re starting a new revolution here at Pretty Darn Fit. A movement for the strong, bold and beautiful women who’ve got their own. Women who’ve got their priorities straight and their goals locked down. Those who do not need anyone to rise above the challenges but have no problem lifting others up with them. Welcome to the WWDMvmnt.
Justine Cordero, one of the youngest and boldest entrepreneurs I know, has made running events more fun and vibrant by co-founding Color Manila. Continue reading Women Who Dare Movement: Justine Cordero of Color Manila
I got to take part in one of the biggest fitness parties held at Bonifacio High Street on April 22-23. For once, I got to enjoy a fitness event as an attendee and not the trainer up front! LOL. ( not complaining, though).
FitStreet was a collaborative effort between Lifestyle Network and Bonifacio High Street featuring activities from some of the top gyms and studios in the Metro including 360 Fitness Club, Anytime Fitness, Urban Ashram, Curves and others. If you’ve seen the series Stranger Things, you probably remember Eleven (one of the lead characters), submerge herself in an inflatable pool filled with saltwater to access a parallel dimension called the “upside down”.

I have just gone through what could be the most painful couple of weeks of my life to date. On February 13, I lost Madie, my 7-year old Chow Spitz. I never thought it would take me this long to grieve over her passing. I’ve lost family pets in the past and although it hurt each time, there has never been anything that has affected me as much as this. Continue reading On Healing : 5 Things I Picked Up from Hitting an All-Time Low

You sprinted, you strolled, you climbed up and tumbled down. We’ve each had our share of smooth-sailing seas and rough turbulent flows the past year and now we’re about to say goodbye–goodbye to the year of radical self love. The year you promised to make your life more purposeful and mindful, not to the point of selfishness, but to a higher level of well…self love. I’m no whiz in the kitchen but since I learned the value and importance of food preparation, I learned to make at least the simplest of dishes.
And when you have no one to feed but yourself (well, in my case, Nic, who does not complain most of the time), you dare to make bold moves and experiment just a little bit. After all, you’re eating whatever you end up making! So I totally get it when you find a recipe you really like but have trouble putting all the ingredients together. Some things are either really hard to find or so expensive, they’re just impractical to purchase. Continue reading Recipe | A Holiday Green Bowl So Easy to Make and Customize
Christmas is in a few days and by now you’re probably either naughty to be skipping your workouts or nice to be sticking to ’em. Don’t worry, you’re not alone. If you have a gym or studio membership, you might even notice the amount of people coming to work out drop significantly. It happens every year.
Look, I know how busy this time of the year can get. And with everyone out on the streets (with their cars!), traffic could not get any worse. To save you time, I’ve put together the latest set of workouts I filmed for Cosmpolitan Philippines. We’ve added a bit of variety this time so you get to choose how you want to break a sweat.
Perfect for when you can’t run to the gym or studio. Continue reading NT Sweat x Cosmopolitan Philippines – Vol. 2
It’s that time of the year again. The season for endless celebrations, parties and socializing. With all the hustle and bustle of the Holidays, it’s not unlikely to find it hard to stay on-track when it comes to wellness. Late nights socializing and attending parties may be a given within the next few weeks but this doesn’t mean we should completely succumb to everyone else’s mindset of the Holidays being an excuse to just forget about staying healthy.
Here, I write 6 simple hacks to staying healthy this season. The most common, and I mean common, question I get is how not to put on the weight during Christmas and New Year’s, knowing how much we all like to bond over food and drinks. After all, who needs another resolution in 2017 when you have no trouble keeping at it now? Continue reading Holiday Hacks | 6 Ways to Stay Healthy this Season
