We’re starting a new revolution here at Pretty Darn Fit. A movement for the strong, bold and beautiful women who’ve got their own. Women who’ve got their priorities straight and their goals locked down. Those who do not need anyone to rise above the challenges but have no problem lifting others up with them. Welcome to the WWDMvmnt.

Bidding the Year of Radical Self Love “Goodbye”

You sprinted, you strolled, you climbed up and tumbled down. We’ve each had our share of smooth-sailing seas and rough turbulent flows the past year and now we’re about to say goodbye–goodbye to the year of radical self love. The year you promised to make your life more purposeful and mindful, not to the point of selfishness, but to a higher level of well…self love. Continue reading Bidding the Year of Radical Self Love “Goodbye”

Of #Fitspirations and Flaws

The other night, I was online looking around for inspiration for Pretty Darn Fit’s Facebook page in an effort to carry out the promise I made to myself on curating content for it religiously. If you’re familiar with Pinterest, you would know that it’s one of the biggest social media platforms that houses many beautiful images and bits of useful information regardless of what keyword you type in. And because we now live in a world wherein every tap and click determines what sort of content is fed to you, I was (not surprisingly) welcomed by posts that went, “7 Moves for a Flatter Stomach”, “How to Burn 1,000 Calories” and (the one that got my eyes going O.o) “How to Look Stylish at the Gym”.

Cuca Eco-Care Mats: Passion Brought to Life

I was lucky enough to have been invited to the exclusive Press Launch of Cuca Eco-Care Mats here in Manila. It was held last October 29 at Fitness First, SM Aura. There, I got to know not just the brand of yoga mats but also the very inspiring woman behind it.

#Healthierin100 Initial Challenge: Finding What’s Beautiful

We are now a week into Shirley’s 100 days and I thought I’d share with you how we began. We kicked things off with a conversation after we’ve taken her “Before” photos and a run-through of the things I needed her to remember. She shared with me her current weight, body fat percentage and measurements and (with her permission) am sharing them with you for reference.

Of Gratitude and Intention: Crossing the Border and Entering My Second Quarter

It has been the most amazing year of my life so far–my 25th year. And today, as I find myself skimming through the pages of the previous chapter, I get more and more excited for things ahead. All set to journey towards the next milestone.

Back when I worked as an advertising executive, we were asked to take a test to determine which profession would best suit our personality. My results showed that the best job for my type was to become a teacher (along with a few other suggestions). I was disappointed. I didn’t feel like I would ever be interested in teaching. Two years later, I found myself leading a class of dance fitness junkies and later on, yogis and yoginis. I have become a full-time yoga and Zumba teacher. I have never felt more fulfilled, inspired and passionate about anything. And that was only the beginning.

Teaching yoga is one of the closest things to my heart today. I love sharing my practice with you guys. :)

My life has been touched by so many people. Workmates, playmates, old friends, new friends and family—all of whom have been my teachers and my solid foundation.

And whatever it is that I receive, I only intend to give back. What I learn from the people I guide, from the people who have taught me and, of course, from myself, I will strive to share with you through my classes and this blog. It’s crazy how so many have supported me in this new journey too. The sponsorships and collaborations have been overwhelming.  And within two months of activity, Pretty Darn Fit has reached over 5,000 views! That’s so much more traffic than I ever expected to get. So THANK YOU.

I seriously don’t care if you landed on this site by accident or if you’re someone I see everyday. You’ve made an impact. That’s that.

With this fire burning, passion overflowing and heart boom-clapping, I send nothing but love and gratitude, blessings and energy. Promise to give much more this year.
